About the risk store
Sue Laing tells how the risk store came to be:
As a regular presenter, trainer and writer in and on life risk insurance, I often heard advisers say "I wish I could get access to more stuff like this!"
So after many years of having advisers ask me whether there was a ‘store’ of my learning and advice delivery tools available, I decided it was about time to say “Yes!!”
So I developed
the risk store, launching solo in August 2006 and now with a team delivering all our services and 'products'. We're very excited about being able to help advisers learn more and apply that learning to your day-to-day dealings with the life risk advice process – or just simply to refine SoAs, or improve client engagement techniques, or rethink the way you, say, present the need for trauma, or TPD, or business insurance.
After all, advising on life risk insurance involves dealing with both the intangibles and the natural reluctance of clients to talk about the nasty side of life. It’s a double whammy of a struggle sometimes, isn’t it? That said, life risk advice is so important to our clients that we owe it to them to do the very best job we can – and we hope we at
the risk store can help with that. There is also an active programme to ensure we continue to engage the expertise of many others within the industry who have value to add to this risk learning 'hub'.
As time goes on we continue to offer more services and support from a range of sources – all with the aim of filling the life risk learning and practice gaps in the market and giving you the opportunity to share ideas with other advisers in life risk insurances.
